Ever since I was little our house would be flooded with fragrant Babcock peaches every summer. 水蜜桃 are especially prized in Taiwan for their honey-like juicy white flesh, so the best, biggest stock gets shipped overseas.

  1. Experienced the other side of this just last week! We picked up two cases of California peaches for a seemingly exorbitant sum (considering that they were "just" normal peaches we've grown up with). When they brought us the cases to inspect, though, they were gorgeous and perfect and HUGE. Made me feel sorry for all the crappy looking peaches back home. (Did not get to consume any, though, since they were for family)

  3. @Ruby: My dad sells these to Taiwan too! Yours weren't from the same company as the one shown on the box, were they? The box I've shown above is retailed at 25 USD but far more when shipped to Taiwan. We really take fruit for granted here in California! Most Babcock varieties are grown in Reedley, CA, which must be like heaven.

@Julia: Is it interesting so far? I feel overwhelmed whenever I look through it (and there's that one really stupid chapter on chakra that annoys me every time I flip past it), but I want to try some of the recipes...
